PictureHum San Diego session with Irina
There is no denying we are living in an interesting time right now. Up is down, down is up, and it is hard to anticipate what each day will bring. I know that family photos may be the farthest thing from a lot of parent’s minds right now. But I have found peace and joy in reflecting on times spent enjoying life with family pre SIP.
Early in February we travelled with one set of Grandparents and cousins to San Diego. Having lived there for eleven years, San Diego holds a special place in my heart. And even more specifically the beach at La Jolla Shores. It’s where my love for the ocean was solidified. I think if you totaled up my time spent at that one beach it would be equivalent to years. Scuba Diving, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, working at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, you name it it all seemed to center on this one specific location.
So when it came time to schedule our family photos, I knew just the place: under Scripps Pier at La Jolla Shores. PictureHum photographer Irina was a great fit for us and easily captured incredible shots of the whole family. It is a little ironic since when we arrived at the pier for our scheduled time, the marine layer was dense and we all thought the photos just wouldn’t turn out the way we wanted. But boy were we wrong. The mist could only be described as MAGICAL! And Irina worked her own magic with the photos.
This is the time of year when family photography sessions ordinarily start picking up. But we are not in an ordinary year. The one thing I know personally though, is that family has never felt more important.
